FAQ's
How did Ride for Him Ministries get started?
With God’s prompting, we started collecting
gentle, older kids horses in 2004, doing round pen
church services, and working with the public
unofficially, doing lessons, colt starting, mentoring,
confidence classes, ect. and the non-profit was born in
November 2006.
What do you charge for a child to attend RFH?
Our program is absolutely free of charge- with an
only requirement of the child having a passion for
horses!
How can I get my child involved?
to download an application from the web site and return
it completed by your child (child needs to write a
paragraph on why they would like to ride also) to our
mailing address on the contact page. Applications are
due before May 15th of that year’s summer program.
Does RFH offer classes all year round? No, not at this time. We are only able to serve
children during the summer months. Due to the extreme
cold and snow during the spring and winter months here
in Wyoming, the weather can be very unpredictable and
unsafe for riding outside. We are working toward
building an indoor arena, so that we may be able to
offer classes year round.
How many horses does RFH have? Currently RFH has 14 horses with some new and up and
coming younger horses on 12 acres. We are small and try
to keep just enough horses to support our program needs.
We feed on pasture part of the summer and the remainder
of the year the horses are in a dry lot and fed hay.
How many children does RFH take during the summer? We take up to ten children for the summer session. We
believe that relationship building is important for the
children and consistency, having goals, and investing
quality time with them all summer ensures that their
spiritual, physical, and mental growth will be
measurable.
Does RFH take volunteers? We do take some volunteers if
they are available for the times we need them. We need
dedicated, punctual staff that are willing to give at
least one of the two evenings a week and help with the
three day goals that we do with the children. Mostly we
need supervision for saddling and bridling and to coach
and support the children in a cheerleader type fashion.

Do you have to own your own horse to be able to
participate? Ride for Him supplies all the horses and
the equipment needed for the program.
Can I donate my horse to RFH? We have accepted horses
that people have donated
to the program from many situations. Horses kept by RFH
must demonstrate an aptitude for acceptance and a
willingness to work. Horses used in our lesson program
must be gentle and be sound so they can walk , trot, and
lope. RFH is rarely able to accept horses with
limitations due to age, behavior problems, or lameness.
Is RFH a religious organization?
No. The ranch is not
associated with any particular religious sector. However RFH is faithbased and founded on Christian values that
our nation was built upon. The Board of Directors
believe in God and the saving grace of His Son Jesus
Christ, and it is our greatest desire to serve God by
the demonstration of our faith through action by our
love for Him and the support of families.
If I make a donation, where does it go?
Unless otherwise
designated by the giver, all monetary donations go into
the general operating fund. These funds are used to pay
for program expenses, ranch maintenance, and horse care.
We supply tax receipts for donors.
